Two of our crew, Ben and Alicia, represented Swansea 447 today, joining Fire and Rescue NSW Commissioner, Jeremy Fewtrell AFSM and 60 Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters to tackle the 14km City2Surf in full structural firefighting gear.

The crew took on the challenge to raise funds for Beat The Burn, supporting the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation and the incredible work helping children with serious burns injuries.

A huge effort from Ben, Alicia and every firefighter who took part today.

This Sunday, Swansea 447 Firefighter Ben McGlinn will join a team of Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters, alongside Fire and Rescue NSW Commissioner, Jeremy Fewtrell AFSM to tackle the 14km City2Surf in full structural gear and breathing apparatus.

Wearing around 20kg of firefighting gear, Ben will be taking on the challenge to raise vital funds for the Burns Unit at Sydney Children’s Hospital and the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Sydney Sick Kids Appeal, helping ensure children receive the best possible care, no matter how rare or complex their condition.

Come and meet the crew, check out the truck, and go behind the scenes at your local Swansea Fire Station. There’ll be live demonstrations, fire safety info worth knowing, BBQ and plenty to keep the whole family busy. It’s a good day out. See you there!

We were proud to march in the Swansea ANZAC Day parade and take part in the service at Swansea RSL - a moment to pause, reflect, and remember the courage, mateship and resilience that continue to shape our nation.
