Today is World Day for Safety and Health at Work - a reminder that everyone deserves to come home safely at the end of the day.
Across local government, many roles operate in environments that are unpredictable, physical, and at times high-risk - from frontline crews and waste teams to rangers, parks staff, and community workers.
Behind it all are workplace health and safety professionals working to identify risks, strengthen systems, and support safer outcomes across councils.
Today is about recognising all of them - and the role local government plays in protecting the people who keep our communities running.
Today, we pause and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Lest we forget.
