It’s been another busy week for The Hills Operational Support Brigade, with our crews out and about moving vehicles across the District. 🚒

With preparations for the upcoming fire season well underway, we’ve been assisting local brigades by transporting their vehicles to and from the council workshop as they undergo their annual servicing and maintenance.

The work continues this coming week, with more vehicle movements planned as well as preparations for the District’s Operational Readiness Day.

The day will see vehicles and the equipment carried on them given a thorough once-over, helping make sure everything is accounted for, operational and ready to go ahead of the upcoming fire season.

Today, two of our members were out and about across the district.

The first task involved relocating The Hills District ATV.

The second task saw the collection and delivery of a generator, which will soon be installed at one of the district’s stations. This important addition will help strengthen the brigade’s operational capability and resilience during emergencies and power outages.

These may seem like simple jobs, but they’re a great example of the behind-the-scenes work that keeps our brigades equipped, prepared and ready to respond when the community needs us most.

Welcome to the official page of The Hills Operational Support Brigade! 🚒

This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter within The Hills District.

The Hills Operational Support Brigade was established to support the volunteers and brigades of The Hills District. By providing additional operational capability and specialist skills, we help strengthen the district’s ability to respond to emergencies, undertake training and deliver community engagement activities.

Our Executive Team was elected at our first Annual General Meeting on Sunday, 12 July. Congratulations to everyone who has stepped forward to serve in both field and administrative leadership roles. Your commitment to building this brigade from the ground up is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to what we can achieve together.

Although we’re a new brigade, our members bring with them a wealth of experience from across the NSW Rural Fire Service and other emergency service agencies. Together, we’re building a capable, professional and supportive team dedicated to helping our district whenever and wherever we’re needed.
