Congratulation Mayor Josh Black on being re-elected as Chair of the Country Labor Committee with 62% of the vote.

Centre Unity members turned out in numbers to back strong pragmatic representation for regional, rural and remote NSW.

Josh is a tireless and outspoken advocate for regional and rural communities. A Dubbo local for over 40 years, he was elected to Dubbo Regional Council in 2021, re-elected in 2024, and now serves as Mayor. He is the only endorsed Labor Mayor West of the Great Dividing Range and has never shied away from standing up for his community when it counts.

Educated at Dubbo South High School, Josh began his career at a local abattoir before earning a Bachelor of Horticultural Science from the University of Western Sydney.
Josh worked for 22 years as a high school teacher and now runs a farm on the outskirts of Dubbo.

As a Councillor, Josh has been a strong voice for road funding and regional infrastructure, and for more government investment in local communities.
