Team of Independents contesting Liverpool City Council Elections. However, we are individual independent candidates.
We are a collective group of individuals, registered as a political party to pool resources and provide support to each other. We have like views and share similar values, and free to stand on our own issues and vote independently as our conscience dictates. LCIT was formed in 1994 by Colin Harrington and Alf Vella to promote the elections and re- elections to Local, State and Federal Government a
nd to provide increased and alternative opportunities for public participation in Local, State and Federal Government issues that affect the community. The Team had immediate success in the 1995 Council elections with two candidates Colin Harrington and Geoff Neville being elected. Again, in the 1999 Council elections, two candidates, Colin Harrington and Stephen Dobell-Brown were elected. In the 2008 Council elections, following the Administrators term of 2004-2008, the Team had two candidates, Nadia Napoletano and Peter Harle elected. Peter was elected as Deputy Mayor for the year 2008/09 and Nadia for 2010/11. Peter Harle (JP) was re-elected in 2012, 2016 and 2021 as a North Ward Liverpool City Councillor. Karress Rhodes was elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2022 as a South Ward Liverpool City Councillor as part of the Liverpool Community Independents Team. Cllr Rhodes resigned from LCIT in April 2022.
