Residency Program Announced For Artists With Disability
Applications are now open for artists with disability in NSW and the ACT to undertake a 6-night residency at the renowned estate from 12 - 18 Oct. Up to 5 artists will be selected to empower their creativity and careers by taking part in the 2020 and Artist-In-Residence Program. Successful applicants will get accommodation and studio space + a bursary to cover per diems. There’s an online information session on Mon 10 Aug for interested artists to find out more about the program and application process. Bundanon Residency Program To Empower Creativity & Careers of Artists With Disability – Accessible Arts Applications are now open for this year's Bundanon residencies.
In Gallery Two, we have the wonderful work of artist Hayley Megan French in her exhibition ‘Three Houses Down’ which intimately explores the suburban surrounds of Guildford, including the Guildford pipelines.
Writer Felicity Castagna has created an intricate and connected response to French’s work in her catalogue essay ‘Notes On Suburbia’:
‘How do you think through the collective past of a suburb? Those Guildford pipelines that still carry water across Sydney are a good start . . . How do you go deeper, beyond that, how do you acknowledge the stories from before it was a suburb, when Indigenous woman initiated diplomatic talks with white settlers over food supplies and Pemulway led guerrilla attacks against those invaders?’
We hope you look forward to re-walking the streets of Guildford upon viewing this sensitive work.

In Gallery One, we have the amazing work of artist Ellen Dahl in ‘Field Notes from the Edge’ where she explores land formations and the ‘deep time’ of the very top and bottom’s of the world through photography.
Come view Dahl's work in person and grab a catalogue to read the beautiful response to her work . . . ‘Landforms crash into each other. Symmetries and dichotomies erupt all at once as we observe accretion and erosion always already happening.’ by Hannah Jenkins.

The Peacock Gallery has REOPENED with new COVID19 protocols in place to manage social distancing, contact tracing and hand hygiene!
We will be open to the public on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays from 11am - 4pm, so please feel free to drop-in for a visit to view our latest exhibition 'Revealing and Concealing' by artist Ghasan Saaid from 25 May - 27 June 2020.
Ghasan's exhibition is 'dedicated to raising awareness in our community about torture, trauma and post traumatic stress disorder . . . it serves as a purpose to contribute in helping to transform emotional wounds of survivors into positivity by remodelling those experiences, in order to recreate reality from the stimuli they experience in their lives'.

The African Australian Literature Development Program is a new initiative to support, develop, share and celebrate the richness of the stories of African Australians within the multi-cultural context of Western Sydney.
Run by WestWords and the African Australian Advocacy Centre, and supported by the Adès Family Foundation, the program aims, through stories, to create a bridge of understanding and empathy between communities and generations, create a sense of belonging and pride.
During this time of uncertainty with COVID-19 WestWords are seeking Expressions of Interest for people of all ages to come together and tell their stories.
