to Thomas Price in a rowboat on Woronora River, ca. 1910s 🚣‍♂️

The Price family were early settlers to Woronora and lived on the western side of the river. They operated a ferry service before a bridge was built. Due to the geography of the area, a crossing bridge was essential to the development of the community.

After much agitation, a road bridge was built in 1912. This has been upgraded over the years with the most recent being the bridge opened in 2001.

We spent a morning on the tools with our asphalt crew.

Did you know that in the past year our crews have:
✅ Resurfaced 36,232m² of road pavement
✅ Repaired 3,144 potholes
✅ Repaired or constructed 6,160m² of footpaths
✅ Swept 5,256km of roadside kerbs and gutters

Here's a behind-the-scenes look at the work happening every day to keep Sutherland Shire moving safely. 👷‍♂️🚜

💙 From Sutherland Shire to Sydney FC.
Huge congratulations to Sutherland Shire local Sophie Aungle on being named in the Sydney FC Women’s squad.
A big moment for a talented local footballer, and just the beginning of what’s shaping up to be an exciting journey. We can't wait to watch her shine in sky blue. ⚽✨
