Ten thousand voices unite to save Carss Park pool 24/03/2022

Today marks 3 years since locals presented the 10,700 signature petition to GRC to save Kogarah War Memorial Pool at Carss Park. Swimming NSW chief executive officer Mark Heathcote spoke on the residents' behalf at that meeting, strongly urging the council to allocate funding in the 2019/2020 budget to subsidise the ongoing costs of the pool.

Things haven't turned out the way we'd hoped but there's loads of fight in us all yet. We can be confident that we'll prevail to have our pool rebuilt at Carss Park, especially with the support of so many new elected and community-minded councillors.

NSW Labor Government would rebuild Carss Park Pool: Minns 22/03/2022

To date, there has been no report that determines that a new state-of-the-art pool complex cannot be built on the current site at Carss Park. The only thing lacking has been political will. There is bipartisan support to rebuild the pool from Federal Liberal, State Labor and a new GRC all committed to rebuilding the pool.

So, let's get this done.🏊‍♀️
