Now heading the Australian Council of Trade Unions, Sally McManus says to the ABC:

"It might be illegal industrial action according to our current laws, and our current laws are wrong. I believe in the rule of law when the law is fair and the law is right."

ACTU boss happy for workers to break 'unjust laws' New Australian Council of Trade Unions secretary Sally McManus says she does not see a problem with workers breaking laws when the laws are unjust.

The weather may be grim, but not as grim as the cuts to penalty rates! Vulnerable groups, including young people, are going to be affected by these decisions. The Young Workers are out today talking to students about this key issue! 💪

The Sydney University Young Workers Club advocates for better workers rights and a strong union movement. We do not pin the young against the old, but understand young people as a particular group of people that face many forms of adversity in the new world of precious and undefined work.

The Young Workers Club is a place for student unionists, activists and young workers on campus who want to learn more about their rights at work and who believe in workers rights. This club seeks to empower young people studying and working in Sydney with the knowledge and skills of unionism and community development.

The Young Workers Club is active in the National Union of Students and aims to assist young people to understand why university/student unionism is important. The club also acts as a place for young people to come together to talk about unionism and work related issues.
