One of the highlights of our conference was the spirited debate on the topic:
"High Tech or Heritage – Which Defines the Future Show?"
A big thank you to our debaters:
🔹 Affirmative: Terry Witcher, 123 Tix, and Dom Wyse
🔹 Negative: Kelso Looker and Laura McKillop
The debate was engaging, thought-provoking, and showcased the passion and expertise of everyone involved. Thank you all for contributing to such a lively discussion and giving us plenty to think about as we look to the future of our shows.
Congratulations to Kelso Looker and Laura McKillop, whose team successfully argued that heritage defines the future show and took out the debate honours.
Well done to all participants for making this such an entertaining and memorable conference session! 👏

A big thank you to David Wilson, President of Queensland Ag Shows, for the fantastic feedback on Steve Langton’s presentation, Leading the Boards – Governance for the Future of Agricultural Shows.
It’s encouraging to hear that the session resonated so strongly and reinforced the importance of good governance, strong leadership, and future-focused thinking across our agricultural show movement.
And of course, we can’t ignore the real star of the photo — David’s cheeky cat, who clearly wanted to make sure they were part of the conversation and perhaps even had a few governance ideas of their own! 🐱
Thanks again, David, for your support and commitment to strengthening agricultural shows for generations to come.
