🐾 DOGS ON OUR BEACHES

I know how much our beaches mean to people across the Northern Beaches — whether you’re walking the dog, taking the kids for a swim, enjoying a morning walk or simply sitting and enjoying the view.

That’s why I supported the 12-month off-leash dog trial at Mona Vale Beach South.

I know this is an issue that brings strong and sometimes differing views. I have listened to residents, dog owners and other beach users, and I understand that getting the balance right is important.

For me, the trial is about finding a practical way forward — providing a designated space for dogs and their owners while also respecting other beach users and protecting the environment.

The trial gives us an opportunity to see what works, what doesn’t, and to listen to the community before decisions are made about the future.

As your Deputy Mayor and Councillor, I genuinely value your feedback. Please continue to let me know your experiences and views as the trial progresses.

Our beaches belong to all of us, and I want to help ensure they remain places where our whole community can enjoy them.

Community Support Available Tomorrow 🤍

Our Elanora Heights community is grieving following the tragic loss of a much-loved young member of our community.

At times like this, it is important that everyone knows support is available and you do not have to navigate grief alone.

Tomorrow, qualified Lifeline counsellors will be available outside the Elanora Pharmacy for anyone in our community who would like to talk, seek support, or simply have someone there to listen.

Lifeline will be there for the below periods of time:

* 8:30-10:30am then 2:30 - 4:30pm *

This support is available to young people, parents, friends and members of the wider community who have been affected by this heartbreaking loss.

Please reach out if you need support, and please check in on those around you who may be struggling.

Our thoughts remain with the family, friends and everyone affected by this terrible tragedy.

Ruth
