Ceasefire provides passive fire installation, inspection, rectification, certification and documentation across NSW and the ACT.

Ceasefire PFP is a leading passive fire protection in Australia servicing NSW and the ACT providing a range of passive fire services. Our projects have included both new construction builds, restorations, and repairs. We work closely with a range of manufacturers and suppliers to install only passive fire systems that are tested and approved to the standards required by the National Construction Code (NCC) otherwise known as the Building Code of Australia (BCA). All of our passive fire work is installed and certified to comply with the relevant Australian Standards listed in AS1530.4 and AS4072.1. Passive Fire Defect of the Week: Damaged Fire-Rated Walls

A fire-rated wall is only effective if the wall system remains intact.

Damage to plasterboard, missing sections, unprotected openings, incorrect repairs or poorly reinstated lightweight construction can compromise the required FRL.

Passive Fire Defect of the Week: Missing or Incorrect Fire Collars

Fire collars are not one-size-fits-all.

The collar needs to suit the pipe material, pipe size, substrate, FRL, orientation and tested installation detail. A collar that is missing, undersized, incorrectly fixed or installed on the wrong substrate may not provide the required fire performance.

A useful passive fire defect report should do more than say “non-compliant”.

Why annular gaps matter in fire-stopping.

The gap around a service pe*******on can determine whether a fire-stopping system is compliant.

Passive Fire Defect of the Week: Incorrectly Treated PVC Pipe Penetrations

PVC pipe pe*******ons are one of the most common areas where passive fire defects occur.

The correct treatment depends on the pipe size, wall or floor type, FRL requirement, opening size and tested system. In many cases, simply sealing around the pipe is not enough.

Fire-rated product does not always mean compliant system.

Using a fire-rated sealant, collar, wrap or board does not automatically mean the installation is compliant.
