๐ NORTHERN TABLELANDS DEPLOYMENT๐ฅ
When fires grow beyond what local resources can handle, NSW RFS members from across the state can be called in to support affected communities.
Recently, Tahmoor member Nikita deployed to the Northern Tablelands as part of a team of members supporting the TenterfieldโInverell Section 44.
Joining the deployment were
superintendent Daniel Osborne, Broni, Tim Williams, Grahame Chaffey, Shelly, Adrian Schoevers, Robert, Chrissy Stannard, Murray Drechsler and Zofie, alongside members from across the Southern Highlands including Ben from Bundanoon, Jackson from Alpine, David from Comms and Jo from the Support Brigade.
Each member played an important part in the deployment, working together to support fireground operations and communities impacted by the fires.
As a Community Field Liaison Officer, Nikita worked alongside other CFLOs out in affected communitiesโsetting up information points, speaking directly with residents, answering questions about fire activity and helping people with property preparation and Bush Fire Survival Plans.
Community Field Liaison Officers play an important role during major incidents, helping ensure residents have access to timely information, support and a familiar face during an incredibly challenging time.
A huge thank you to everyone involved and to the Tenterfield and Inverell communities for welcoming our crews so warmly.
