We are delighted to congratulate Breanne Archer on the successful completion of her Honours research project at the National Centre for Neuroimmunology and Emerging Diseases (NCNED) that investigated immunological and cellular mechanisms in long COVID and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS).
Throughout her Honours candidature, Bree demonstrated exceptional dedication, scientific curiosity and research excellence. Her work has contributed important new knowledge to the understanding of both long COVID and ME/CFS, two complex and debilitating conditions that continue to impact millions of people worldwide. Through meticulous laboratory investigation and data analysis, Bree reported significant novel findings, advancing our understanding of the immunological and cellular changes associated with these illnesses. Her research has generated valuable insights that will help inform future studies and support ongoing efforts to improve diagnosis, treatment and patient outcomes. These research findings will be presented at conferences and submitted for publication in the coming months.
Beyond her scientific achievements, Bree has been a highly valued member of the NCNED research team, consistently demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm and a commitment to high-quality research. Her ability to translate complex scientific questions into meaningful research outcomes reflects the qualities of an emerging research leader.
Adding to this remarkable achievement, Bree has been awarded the opportunity to undertake a research scholarship in Switzerland, where she will be working within a leading Swiss research laboratory until early December. This international placement represents a significant milestone in her research career and will provide invaluable opportunities to further develop her scientific expertise, collaborate with international researchers, and broaden the impact of her work on a global stage.
We are incredibly proud of all that Bree has accomplished and excited to see what she achieves during this next chapter of her research journey. We wish her every success in Switzerland and look forward to hearing from her in the coming months.
Best wishes,
Sonya and the NCNED team
