Response times to calls for assistance vary according to the volume of calls received, the number of volunteers available and the length of time requests for assistance ahead of you take to complete. While the NSW SES endeavours to assist community members in the shortest possible time, extended delays in responding may occur. Thank you for your patience. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency call 000 immediately. Did you know up to a third of storm and heavy rain related requests we receive are preventable? Help reduce unnecessary calls by cleaning gutters and downpipes, securing or putting away loose items from yards and balconies, trimming back overhanging branches and ensuring your roof is in good repair.

The weather is looking a little gloomy across our region today, with showers expected throughout the afternoon and into the evening! ☁️🌧️

Our NSW SES Taree City Unit would like to remind our community to stay weather aware and take a few simple precautions as conditions change.

🏡 Around your home: Check that gutters and drains are clear of debris and secure any loose outdoor items.

🚗 On the roads: Slow down, drive to the conditions and allow extra distance between vehicles when roads are wet.

🌳 Out and about: Be mindful of slippery surfaces, fallen branches and changing weather conditions.

📱 Stay informed: Keep an eye on the latest forecasts and any official warnings issued for our area.

💧 Remember: Never drive, ride or walk through floodwater. If it’s flooded, forget it!

Our volunteers are committed to helping keep our local community safe, and we encourage everyone to look out for their neighbours, friends and family.

🧡 For emergency assistance during floods and storms, call NSW SES on 132 500.

🚨 For life-threatening emergencies, call Triple Zero (000).

Stay safe, Manning Valley! 🧡

🧡 What a day at the Old Bar Beach Festival! 🧡

Our NSW SES Taree City Unit members had a fantastic day out at the Old Bar Beach Festival today! 🌊☀️

It was great to get out into the community, chat with so many locals and visitors, show off some of our vehicles and equipment, and share a little about what we do at the SES. 🚨🧡

And we think it’s safe to say there was one VERY clear crowd favourite… the Unimog! 😂🧡

The Unimog certainly stole the show, with plenty of people stopping by to check it out, ask questions and get a closer look 🚛

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, have a chat, check out our gear or simply give our volunteers a wave. We loved seeing so many familiar faces and meeting plenty of new ones too!

And of course, a massive shoutout to our volunteers who gave up their Saturday to represent the unit and spend the day with our community. 🧡

Thanks for having us, Old Bar Beach Festival! We had an awesome day and can’t wait to do it all again.

Our Taree City Unit SES members have been busy giving our vehicles some TLC tonight. Making sure they’re clean, checked and operationally ready ahead of this weekend’s Old Bar Beach Festival! 🧼✨

We’ll be out and about at the festival, so make sure you come over and say hello! 👋🧡

Have a chat with our volunteers, check out some of our vehicles and equipment, and learn a little more about what NSW SES does to support our community.

We’d love to see you there! 🧡

This afternoon, NSW SES Taree City Unit was called out to assist with a fence that had started coming loose in the wind.

As with many jobs, things don’t always go exactly to plan! Our team had to adapt, think on their feet and change the approach as we worked through the job. 💪

With a bit of teamwork, problem-solving and plenty of hands on deck, we were able to help make the area safe again. 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

Our volunteers are always happy to head out and lend a hand to our community when they’re needed. Whether it’s storm damage, fallen trees, flooding or, in this case, a fence that decided it wanted to take flight! 😂🌬️

A big thank you to our volunteers for giving up their Monday afternoon to help keep our community safe. ❤️

Yesterday the Taree City SES Unit’s community engagement took us to tinonee public school for kidprenuer day.

Every year, the year 6 students are tasked with researching a product, doing a marketing plan and producing that product in mass quantities to sell at kidprenuer day to raise money for their stage 3 camp.

The whole school and community rally behind them and it is an incredible day.

We were joined today by Tinonee RSF, and NSW Police.

Thank you to the year 6 students for inviting us and congratulations on such a successful day.

We were excited to welcome Manning Valley Adventure-Church / Outdoor Kids Club to our unit for a tour and an introduction to what we do at the NSW SES. 💛

The group got to explore our Incident Management Team (IMT) setup and learn more about how SES volunteers work together to support our community during emergencies and across a range of incidents.

We also got up close with some of the equipment that helps us get the job done, including our vehicles, boats and our Unimog! 🚤🚒

It was fantastic to have the opportunity to show the kids and leaders around, answer their questions and give them an insight into the work our volunteers do in the Manning Valley.

A big thank you to Manning Valley Adventure-Church / Outdoor Kids Club for coming along and spending some time with us! We hope you enjoyed your visit as much as we enjoyed having you. 🧡

Who knows… maybe we’ve met some future SES volunteers! 😉

🧭 NAVSHIELD 2026 | Belanglo State Forest 🌿

Four of our Taree City NSW SES members took part in the NAVSHIELD exercise held in Belanglo State Forest on Saturday.

The night before the event, teams were provided with their mapping plots and maps and had to accurately plot the checkpoints and plan their route / strategy in preparation for the challenge ahead.

At 9am, our team set out into the bush with their maps, compasses and packs, ready to put their navigation and teamwork skills to the test.

Over the 9-hour event, the team trekked more than 20 kilometres through the forest, successfully locating every checkpoint they set out to find and clocking up an impressive 540 points along the way! 👏

There were plenty of laughs, teamwork and good times along the way, making it a fantastic day out while putting some valuable navigation skills to the test.

A fantastic effort from all four members — well done team! 💪🧭

This weekend, some of our Taree City SES members headed up to Coffs Harbour with members from all around the state to collect a very exciting addition to our unit - a Unimog! 🚛🧡

But before bringing it to Taree, our members have spent the weekend getting to know the vehicle, learning how it operates, understanding its capabilities and building the skills needed to safely use it during future operations.

The Unimog will be housed at the Taree City Unit but will be used throughout our cluster, giving all our units another valuable capability to support our community when it matters most whether that’s during floods, storms, road incidents or other emergencies.

A huge thank you to our members who have given up their weekend to undertake the training and get this impressive piece of equipment ready for its new home. 👏

We can’t wait to have it in Taree and our local area and put it to work supporting our community and surrounding areas! 🧡🚨
