ℹ️ Today’s update from Mayor Alan Tickle.

We’re inviting the community to have their say on our draft Community Wellbeing and Inclusion Action Plan 2026–2036.

The 10-year plan brings together our existing Aboriginal Action Plan, Youth Strategic Plan, Disability Inclusion Action Plan and Ageing Strategy into one streamlined document.

By bringing these plans together, we can better coordinate our efforts, reduce duplication and focus on actions that improve wellbeing and inclusion across the MidCoast.

We want to hear from the community to help shape the final plan and make sure it reflects local needs and priorities.

Feedback is open until Monday 16 November.

Things are taking shape at Wingham's Isabella Street roundabout 🚧

Work is progressing well, with most concrete works now complete and the first layer of asphalt in place.

Crews have completed the kerbs, gutters, drainage pits and footpaths, with work now underway on the new traffic islands and heritage brick paving that will feature around the intersection.

Over the coming weeks, crews will focus on completing the traffic islands, landscaping, preparing for new street lighting and laying the final asphalt before line marking.

The $1.7 million project is expected to be completed later this month, weather permitting.

The upgrade has involved much more than surface-level improvements. Over recent months, crews have relocated underground services and installed new stormwater pipes and pits to improve drainage in this low-lying area.

Have your say on the future of historic timber bridges 🌉

Transport for NSW is seeking community feedback on its updated Timber Truss Bridges Strategy, which guides how historic timber road bridges are conserved and maintained while meeting modern transport needs.

The updated strategy identifies 27 timber truss bridges across NSW for retention due to their heritage significance, including the historic Monkerai Bridge.

You can review the proposed strategy, complete a survey or make a submission through the Transport for NSW Have Your Say website.
