👶💦 Bub & Me is coming to TAC!

We’re looking to introduce Bub & Me Aqua Active + Water Familiarisation for parents, carers and little ones aged 6 months–4 years.

Each session will combine:

💪 30–35 minutes of Bub & Me Aqua Active - A fun aqua fitness workout for parents and carers, with bub joining you in the water.

💦 20–25 minutes of Water Familiarisation - A relaxed, playful session for your little one using songs, splashing, movement, floating activities and early water-confidence skills.

We’ll provide Zoggs Swimming Trainer Seats for the Aqua Active component, and we’ll also have Zoggs Infant Fleece Swimsuits available to help keep our littlest swimmers warm and comfortable in the water.

To kick things off, we’ll be running a FREE introductory session so families can come along and give it a try - beginning late October.

After that, the program will run as a 5-session block at $15 per session.

We’re currently looking at Monday and Thursday mornings, but before locking in the timetable we’d love to know what times work best for local families.

The countdown is on! We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the pool soon. 🏊‍♂️☀️

A big thank you again to Tenterfield Shire Council for continuing to offer discounted entry fees for our community.

If you’re planning on taking part in any of our programs throughout the season, we’d definitely recommend having a look at the season pass options - they can work out to be great value for regular pool users.

We’ve been blown away by the response to our Learn to Swim program, with 150 children now signed up for our Term 4 block.

A huge thank you to all of the families who have enrolled and supported what we’re building at TAC. It’s been really encouraging to see just how strong the appetite for swimming is in our town, and we’re really grateful for the support.

I also want to apologise for the time it’s taken between enrolments closing and getting everything finalised. I’ve spent a fair bit of time feeling like Alan here, trying to keep families as close together as possible, while also grouping children of similar ages and abilities and making the timetable work across the week 😅

I’ve done my best to get it right, but if something doesn’t look quite right, just get in touch and we’ll sort it out.

Invoices have now been sent, along with your child’s lesson day, time, level and instructor, plus the other relevant information for the program.

Thanks again for the support. We’re really looking forward to getting the pool open and seeing everyone back in the water.

🏊🏽‍♂️ A little look at the thinking behind our Learn to Swim program 🏊🏽‍♂️

We’ve spent a lot of time over the off season looking closely at our Learn to Swim program and asking a pretty simple question:

What do we really want our kids to get from swimming lessons?

For us, it’s not just about moving up a level or learning another stroke. It’s about helping children feel safe and confident in the water, understand how their body moves, build strong technique, and gradually become more independent swimmers.

We also want our swimmers to understand more than just what to do. As they progress, we want them to begin understanding why they’re doing it - why body position matters, why we work on certain skills before others, and how the different pieces eventually come together to make swimming easier and more effective.

That’s why our pathway is structured the way it is. Each stage has a clear purpose, and each skill helps prepare children for what comes next.

Families are an important part of that journey too. When parents take an interest in what their child is learning, listen to the language being used in lessons and celebrate those little improvements along the way, it helps reinforce the confidence and understanding we’re trying to build in the water.

From first lesson to lifelong swimmer, that’s the journey we’re working towards.

🏊FINAL CALL FOR LEARN TO SWIM🏊

Our Learn to Swim program is filling quickly, with more families signing up than we expected!! If you’re planning to join us for our Term 4 block, please get your enrolment in ASAP!

Enrolments close this Friday, giving us time to organise classes and make sure we can fit as many children in as possible before the pool opens in just over 5 weeks.

Remember, these lessons are currently for children aged 4+. We’re still looking at options for younger children once we have this program organised.

With the numbers we’ve received, we’re making sure every child gets one lesson first. If you requested two lessons, we’ll look at adding those once everyone has their first spot.

Well, Tenterfield… we called and you definitely answered! 🏊‍♀️💙

We’ve been absolutely blown away by the response to our Learn to Swim program and have already had to increase our lane allocations and teaching team!

Even with the extra capacity, most lesson spaces are now completely booked out. If you have already filled the form out, we have your child allocated into a class.

There are still a few spots here and there across Thursday, Friday and Saturday, so if you’ve been meaning to get your little swimmer signed up, now’s probably the time!

If you’re not sure which level to choose, just flick us a message and we’ll help work out the best fit.

We can’t wait to get back into it and see so many local kids in the pool this season. 💙

Squad enrolments are now open for the upcoming season!🏊‍♂️

This season we’ll be running 🥉Bronze 🥈Silver and 🥇 Gold Squads, with a clear progression from the advanced end of our Learn to Swim program.

One of the biggest things we want to get right is when swimmers move into a squad!

We don’t believe in rushing children through Learn to Swim just to get them into a squad sooner. For Bronze, we want swimmers coming through with a strong foundation across all four strokes, so squad sessions can focus on developing technique, independence and training skills rather than teaching strokes from scratch.

For that reason, Baby Sharks will not run this season. We trialled it last year as a bridge between Learn to Swim and squad, but we found many swimmers still needed the extra support that is better provided in Learn to Swim. We’d rather keep children there a little longer and move them into Bronze when they’re genuinely ready.

Gold Squad begins Monday 5 October.
Bronze and Silver Squads begin Monday 12 October.

Our Learn to Swim program focuses on building water confidence, strong swimming foundations and skills for life in a positive and supportive environment.

If you’re unsure which level your child would be best suited to, we’re more than happy to organise an assessment before classes begin. This gives us a chance to see where they’re at and make sure they’re placed in the right group.

If there is enough interest, we’ll work through the responses and do our best to put together classes that suit as many local families as possible.
