Terang Color Festival 2026 🌈

What a fantastic day out for the crew at the Terang Color Festival! 🤍🧡

It was great to get out into the community, enjoy the festivities and have plenty of laughs along the way. Most importantly, we loved seeing so many people come along, get involved and enjoy a great day together.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, have a chat, ask questions, or simply come over and check out what we do. Your support, kind words and interest in the SES mean a lot to our volunteers.

Events like this are a great reminder of what makes our local community so special, people coming together, supporting one another and having a great time.🤍🧡

A big thank you to the organisers, volunteers and everyone who helped make the Terang Color Festival such a great event. We were proud to be there representing Terang SES and look forward to seeing everyone again next time!

HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY, TERANG SES! 🧡

Today, we at Terang SES are proudly celebrating 50 years of active operation!🎉

For five decades, dedicated volunteers have answered the call to help their community. Often in challenging, unpredictable and sometimes difficult circumstances. Through storms, floods, road crashes, rescues and countless other incidents, our members have continued to show up, lend a hand and support those who need it most.

Today, we want to take a moment to recognize and sincerely thank every volunteer, past and present, who has been part of the Terang SES family over the past 50 years. 🧡🤍

Your time, dedication, training and willingness to put your hand up when others need help is what has kept this unit going for half a century. Whether you served for a few months, many years, or are still proudly wearing the orange today, this milestone belongs to you.

And while we’re celebrating 50 years of history, we’re also looking firmly toward the future. Last night, our members were back at training completing Road Crash Rescue (RCR) training, continuing to build and maintain the skills needed to respond safely and effectively when our community needs us. 🚗

50 years of service. 50 years of dedication. 50 years of being there when our community needs us. Here’s to the volunteers who built our history, the members who continue the tradition today, and the future generations who will carry it forward.💪

⚠️What a welcome to winter!

Terang and surrounding areas are currently experiencing heavy rainfall and strong winds, creating hazardous conditions across our region. We urge everyone to take EXTRA care and stay informed as the weather event continues.🥶

✅ Avoid unnecessary travel where possible.
✅ Slow down on wet roads and be aware of fallen trees, branches, and debris.
✅ Secure loose outdoor items that could become airborne in strong winds.
✅ Stay clear of damaged powerlines and report them immediately to Powercor
✅ Check on neighbors, family members, and vulnerable members of the community.
✅ Never drive through floodwater! if it's flooded, forget it.

Our volunteers are monitoring conditions and responding where required. Please remember that during severe weather events, SES resources may be stretched, so your patience and preparedness are appreciated.🧡🤍

For emergency assistance due to storm or flood damage, contact the SES on 132 500. In a life-threatening emergency, call 000.

Stay safe, stay informed, and look after one another.

Scam alert- so spread it far and wide. There is a publishing company cold calling local businesses reporting to represent local VicSES Volunteers seeking advertising $.
To be clear they do not represent us and any money spent on advertising does not support your local SES IN ANY WAY!!

My businesss received a call from them this morning. So i felt i needed to warn others.

VicSES Head Office is legally seeking ways to stop them from doing this.

A Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating has been currently forecast for Friday 9 January 2026 in the Northern Country, North Central and Wimmera districts. A Catastrophic rating signals the worst possible conditions for grass and bushfires. For your survival, leave bushfire risk areas - if a fire starts and takes hold, lives are likely to be lost.

An Extreme Fire Danger Rating has also been forecast for the remainder of the state. Take action now to protect your life and property.

Stay up to date with warnings and incidents via VicEmergency: www.emergency.vic.gov.au

Fire Danger Ratings are forecast using Bureau of Meteorology data up to four days in advance, but can change on the day. Therefore, it is important to check the Fire Danger Rating for your area every day and know which rating is your trigger to act.
