✏️📚 Look at our fantastic writing! 📚✏️
During our literacy sessions, our Prep students have been putting their phonics knowledge into action! They have been using their segmenting and blending skills to read and write CVC words, while also practising important High Frequency Words.
We are now using these skills to construct simple sentences developing our understanding of how sounds, letters and words work together to communicate meaning.
Prep are building their phonological awareness, phonics knowledge, handwriting skills and confidence as beginning writers. 🌟
We are so proud of the effort and progress they are making as they learn to independently record their ideas in writing! 💚✏️📖

🌟🚀 Exploring the Universe with Starlab! 🌎✨

Yesterday, our students had an out-of-this-world experience when Starlab came to visit! 🌌

Our students were amazed as they explored the wonders of the universe, discovering more about planets, stars, the Sun and constellations. There were plenty of curious minds, big questions and lots of “WOW!” moments as we looked up and explored what lies beyond our planet. 🌙🪐⭐

Paul also shared his personal ‘rock’ collection, including a fascinating piece of tektite. Even more exciting, our students had the incredible opportunity to hold a real piece of a meteorite! ☄️🤯 What an amazing hands-on way to connect our learning to the world beyond Earth.

A huge thank you to Paul from Starlab for sharing his knowledge, enthusiasm and amazing collection, and for making learning about space so exciting and memorable for our students.

We would also like to give a very special thank you to our amazing Anakie School P&C for making this experience possible. Your fundraising efforts continue to provide our children with incredible learning opportunities that they may not otherwise get to experience. ❤️

What an amazing way to bring the universe into our school! 🌌✨
