Hey Link Family,

Another month of outings, another month of great memories! We’ve been lucky enough to enjoy a wonderful mix of outings, from exploring the outdoors and meeting wildlife to discovering local gems, and great food as always. 💙

🌊 We embraced coastal charm in Geelong with a relaxing Wharf Shed lunch and a refreshing stroll along the waterfront and Botanic Gardens.

🚠 We soared above the Mornington Peninsula on the Arthurs Seat Eagle, taking in breathtaking views before a delightful lunch.

🐾 Wildlife days at Kyabram Fauna Park and Maru Koala & Wildlife Park brought us up close with kangaroos, wombats, and more — full of fun and discovery.

⛴️ Our scenic cruises along the Yarra River to Williamstown and across Corio Bay were the perfect mix of relaxation, great views, and delicious meals.

🌸 We wandered the stunning gardens of Cruden Farm, stepped back in time at Bendigo’s Deborah Gold Mine, and explored the lively Dandenong Market.

🚢 We also enjoyed a charming paddlesteamer cruise on Lake Wendouree — a perfect way to unwind.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for another gorgeous month.

Hey Link Family,

New week, new batch of outings to look back on. Last week we got very acquainted with nature at Moonlit Sanctuary, Rayner's Orchard, and Caldermeade Farm - and as always, enjoyed some great food.

🐾 February 23 – We stepped into the wild at Moonlit Animal Sanctuary, getting up close with kangaroos, koalas, wombats, and a variety of native and exotic animals. Keeper talks and hands-on experiences brought the sanctuary to life, giving everyone a chance to learn more about these incredible creatures. Afterwards, we relaxed with a delicious lunch at La Porchetta, making it a perfect day of wildlife, fun, and great food.

🍑 February 24 – Next, we hopped aboard a tractor ride through Rayner’s Orchard, tasting fresh fruit straight from the trees along the way. It was a morning full of flavour, laughter, and beautiful orchard views. To top it all off, we enjoyed a tasty buffet lunch on-site before heading home with 2kg of fresh fruit each to enjoy later.

🚜 February 25 – We also discovered the charm of rural Gippsland with a visit to Caldermeade Farm. From touring the dairy factory to enjoying a scenic tractor ride and watching Jersey cows being milked, it was a fascinating glimpse into the region’s agricultural traditions. We finished the day with a relaxing lunch at the café — a true taste of country life.

🧧 February 26 – We also welcomed the Year of the Horse with a relaxing stroll through the Chelsea Australian Garden, reconnecting with nature and enjoying its tranquil beauty. Afterwards, we gathered for a special Lunar New Year luncheon at Olinda Tea House. Delicious!

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the laughter, conversations, and shared moments that make these outings so special.

Hey Link Family,

Our outings calendar keeps rolling and the good times coming in with last weeks two wonderful outings!

On February 16, we hopped aboard the famous Bendigo Talking Tram for a journey through Bendigo’s rich gold rush history, enjoying fascinating stories of the city's glittering past as we toured their historic landmarks. We followed that with a delicious lunch and leisurely stroll through town, making the most of a beautiful day out with great company.

On February 19, we set sail on a relaxing Hygeia Boat Cruise across Corio Bay to enjoy some stunning coastal views, sightings of some local wildlife and - as always - a delicious lunch. We love a peaceful boat cruise, and we think you will too.

For more coastal views, we also climbed aboard the Drysdale Express Train on February 18. Relaxing on a restored, century-old steam locomotive, we enjoyed the views and nostalgia from Drysdale to Queenscliff. Of course, no LINK outing is complete without a delightful lunch to top off a perfect day of scenery and adventure.

A stroll through Albert Park and a gorgeous Mediterranean lunch at Nanna’s Place on the 20th was a perfect end to a perfect week.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the laughter, conversations and shared moments that make these days so special.

Hey Link Family,

Our outings calendar continued for another successful week with a lovely tour of Old Gippstown Heritage Park in Moe.

We spent the day strolling through a beautifully preserved town, peeking in charming old shopfronts and homes. The friendly guides provided interesting facts and tidbits that really helped that history come alive, and made for a fantastic day with our equally fantastic outings group - and the hearty lunch definitely didn't hurt.

We also enjoyed a picturesque ferry ride between Sorrento and Queenscliff across Port Phillip Bay. The weather was gorgeous and the views were incredible, with fresh air and plenty of time to sit back and enjoy.

Thanks to everybody who joined us - it was a great day, as it always is with you all.

The third week of outings with LINK Community and Transport has come and gone, and was just as wonderful as the first two!

We began with a tranquil escape aboard the Goulburn Explorer, cruising the serene waters of Lake Nagambie. Surrounded by picturesque scenery and fresh country air, it was a chance to truly unwind and take in the region’s natural charm. A leisurely lunch rounded out the day, complementing this peaceful and refreshing outing.

Next, we enjoyed a vibrant morning at the Hastings Thursday Market, browsing fresh produce, local treasures, and unique finds while soaking up the lively atmosphere. From there, we stepped back in time with a guided tour of the local museum, uncovering fascinating stories from the past. We wrapped up the day with a delicious lunch at La Porchetta — the perfect way to relax and reflect on a morning well spent.

Great experiences, stunning locations, and great company! Thanks to everybody who came. We can't wait to show you what week 4 had to offer.

The second week of February was packed with flavour, fun, and fantastic company, and what a week it was with LINK Community and Transport!

Next came apple picking at Rayners Orchard, where we hopped aboard the tractor, picked and tasted fresh fruit straight from the trees, and shared a generous buffet lunch.

The week also dished up a fun feast at HanDiLao Hotpot in Box Hill, full of warmth, laughter, and seriously good food, before we wrapped things up with a tramboat cruise over to Williamstown.

Hey LINK Family!

We hope you all enjoyed the Multicultural Australia Day Feast of Cultures, hosted by Filipino Community Council of Victoria Incorporated (FCCVi), in collaboration with LINK - and you can view some highlights from the day right here. We were honoured to act as transport partner for the day, and are so proud of the relationship we have with FCCVi.

Over the past three years, LINK has worked closely with FCCVi to transport CHSP clients to planned activity groups and Group Social Support Programs in Brooklyn and Mickleham. This partnership has grown into a strong, trusted relationship, ensuring clients feel supported, connected, and socially engaged.

This year, we were delighted to be a sponsor FCCVi’s Australia Day event, showing our support by gifting three hampers to FCCVI and their beautiful, multicultural client base.

Our transport team also played a key role on the day, safely transporting around 50 clients from the North and West to attend the celebration. From careful scheduling to the dedication of our 4 volunteers and 2 staff drivers, who took time out on the public holiday to assist. It was truly a team effort to make the day a success.

At LINK, we are proud of the lasting relationship we have built with FCCVi and remain committed to nurturing this partnership at every level.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERS DAY!

Today we’re celebrating the heart of LINK Community Transport.

Non-profit organisations like ours simply could not exist without the dedication and generosity of the volunteers that make up our fleet of drivers, outings hosts, and office support.

This year’s theme, “Every Contribution Matters,” reminds us that community is built through everyday acts of kindness. And that’s exactly what our volunteers give — one warm greeting, one safe journey, one supportive moment at a time.

Together, these small contributions create something powerful: a community where people feel connected, supported, and never alone.

Thank you to every volunteer at LINK, and in every organisation around the world who gives their time, care and compassion. Your contribution truly matters, more than you know.
