"Kyiv" has been named Word of the Year 2022 in Denmark. The previous spelling "Kiev" reflected the Russian name of the Ukraine's capital, and in March 2022, media and public agencies decided to change it to "Kyiv" to show respect for the Ukrainians.

Denmark to lift all COVID-19 restrictions despite record numbers of cases
It is the second time Denmark has tried to return to a pre-pandemic lifestyle, having lifted all restrictions on 10 September before bringing them back in two months later.

If someone wonders how the Danish language sounds to speakers of other languages. A 29 year old Swede was stopped by the Swedish police. He was so drunk that the police at first thought that he was speaking Danish:). That, basically, sums it up.

The Danish government thinks that Denmark can do a better job with waste recycling. Under the new rules, waste collection procedures will be unified in the whole country. Currently, Danes are required to sort their waste into three types, but soon they will need to use 10 different types of containers. It is great to read about the DKK 75 mln. package delivered by the Århus City Council and Salling Foundation to support the City's cultural life during COVID-19. It would be even better if Australian chains David Jones and Myer could follow the Salling's initiative and do something good for the cultural life in Australia!
