CLASS SNAPSHOT ๐Ÿ“ธ

Itโ€™s been all about bugs in KR! We have been using quality texts to explore facts about bugs, and have enjoyed exploring their habitat and needs during play based learning. We have loved using caterpillars to consolidate our Maths, and of course, creating our own informative texts about different bugs in writing!

CLASS SNAPSHOT ๐Ÿ“ธ

3/4T have been writing a narrative with a beginning, middle and end based on the book Rowan of Rin. We love to write our paragraph, then share our work and get peer feedback to improve. Our focus is on including dialogue and showing our characters actions and thoughts, rather than just telling the reader.

Today, some of our Pondee students represented Toronto Public School at the Inspire Potential Showcase at Kahibah Public School, sharing the story of our Pondee garden project and the journey that has brought it to life.

Our students stood in front of an audience and spoke with such confidence, pride and passion about their ideas, their culture and the changes they hope to make in our school.

But the best part was watching them own it.

The growth we have seen in these young people throughout this project has been something special. Their confidence, leadership, and willingness to step outside their comfort zones has continued to grow, and today was a beautiful celebration of just how far they have come.

Proud is an understatement. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ

Bounce, stretch, squish, and roll! K6W have been exploring the exciting world of elasticity by experimenting with different balls, discovering how they bounce and change shape, and using what we learn to create our very own fun toys. Itโ€™s hands-on science, creativity, and plenty of bouncing fun!

CLASS SNAPSHOT ๐Ÿ“ธ

3/4G have been busy learning about symmetry in Mathematics. We have been looking at different shapes and sorting them into symmetrical and non-symmetrical shapes. Students have enjoyed exploring how shapes can be divided into equal halves and identifying lines of symmetry.

We have also been getting creative by painting our very own set for our showcase! The students were fantastic at sharing their ideas, working together and getting involved to help bring our vision to life. ๐ŸŽจ
