While communities prepare for fire season, we've been preparing behind the scenes too. Our updated website is now live and makes it simpler to find fire safety information, tools and resources you need to stay informed and ready🔥

Head to the Fire Safety section of our website to see the new design: cfa.vic.gov.au/fire-safety and if you can't see the changes yet, don’t forget to refresh your cache.

🔥 MELBOURNE FIREFIGHTER STAIR CLIMB 2026 🔥

What an awesome weekend taking on the Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb, climbing 28 floors in full firefighting gear weighing 25kg,to raise money and awareness for Lifeline, the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation and 000 Foundation.

And this year the event hit an absolutely incredible milestone, with more than $1 MILLION raised! 👏🔥

We had five of us representing Torquay, and there were some seriously impressive efforts across the crew.

🚒 PERI
Second year around and managed a 30 second PB 🙌. Still wasn’t quite enough to take the overall win 😂, but managed to win the old-ladies age category 🥇👵 and finish 3rd female overall in the Donned & Started category.

🚒 AARON
First stair climb and came out HOT 🔥 with a smoking time of 4:28. Possibly cooked himself a little early 😂 but ploughed on to the top and finished 7th for his category and an incredible 9th overall for firefighters on air. Huge first effort!

🚒 STU
First ever stair climb and absolutely smashed it! Got himself all the way to the top and did bloody amazing. First one officially in the bank! 👊

🚒 JARED
Not only smashed out his first stair climb but went and took out the fastest time OVERALL for any firefighter off air!! 🥇🔥 in an insane time of 4:02. What a weapon!

🚒 JACKSON
The experienced one of the group! Another stair climb survived after many years of putting himself through this madness 😂 and even better, beat his time from last year. Still getting faster!

Such a great event to be part of, surrounded by firefighters and emergency service personnel pushing themselves for something much bigger than a finishing time.

Over $1 million raised for three incredible organisations. That’s the real win. ❤️Torquay Fire Brigade contributing over $4,500 of that.

Pretty bloody proud of our little Torquay crew. 🔥🚒💪

A busy afternoon for the brigade with a number of call outs, this one being the most significant.

A Torquay home, known by neighbours as the “party house”, has been gutted by fire as police seek witnesses. Here's what we know 👉 https://bit.ly/45Vvwqw
