Congratulations to our 2023 competition prize winners.

Overall we had a small turnout for the year yet quite the tough competition, mostly as I assume most of us forgot to log our catches.

A couple of special mentions:

- Amphib Anglers would like to thank our local small business sponsors for their support in our young club. Your support provided valuable packages that contributed to the end of year prize ceremony. Alex from Heckin Lures, Adrian from Sticks & Wood, Warwick and Cody from Angry Eye Lures; your trust in us and your assistance has always been greatly appreciated.

- We would also like to thank all of our competitors. Your contributions not only raised the funds required for the prizes, but they greatly supported our wider veteran and frontline services community within the local region. I ask that you please share our competition with your mates for a more eventful 2024 as well as the opportunity to further support our veteran community. I hope to see you all again in next year’s comp.

- Finally, I would like to thank Michael from Reeling Veterans NQ. I am tremendously impressed by the mutually supporting relationship our club and your organisation are establishing and hope to only further strengthen our ties. I look forward to the future and aim to provide greater assistance for those who are in more need.

Following up from this years competition, we are once again opening up our annual comp to all Townsville ADF and frontline services personnel, inclusive of current serving members and veterans.

There has been a slight alteration to the species list which has been attached for reference.

Just a friendly reminder that the adventure training and the annual comp are two separate activities, however that does not mean that fish caught during adventure training will not count towards the comp if you are a competitor.

Bit of a quieter turn out this time round with the final adventure training package for this year being ticked up last week.

Still great to see some of our anglers coming home with a feed.

Our anglers recently had the opportunity to wet a line as part of the first adventure training package put together since our inception, with hopefully many more activities to be certified in the years to come.

Although the weather wasn’t in our favour, many from our team still managed to pull off the goods (or at least pull off some average at best photoshop work).

We were glad to see that for some, fine dining was a treat to wrap up a good couple of hard days at work.

We’ll be placing an extension on this latest batch of fishing shirts until Friday the 17th of March

Anyone interested in purchasing some please be advised that the general rule of thumb most people are finding is to order your shirt one size larger than you normally would wear

Open to all Townsville ADF units and front line services both current serving and veterans alike including families

Jump in for the chance to win a bunch of major prizes, all backed by local small businesses

The longest catch of each species provided below will have their name drawn from a hat to decide the overall winners
The more you catch, the greater your chances of winning

All profits will be donated to Reeling Veterans NQ and Swiss 8

We’re looking at placing a third order of fishing shirts in to cater for a few dudes who missed the opportunity last time

The shirts are long sleeve made from polyester and are rated to UPF 50+
Attached will be a sizing spreadsheet, and we ask that you please take note of this as dudes who usually are a medium are wearing large with this scale as an example

Grab some for the kids and grab some for the extended family if you’d like
Please don’t feel like this is only restricted to the guys currently serving, the idea of Amphib Anglers is to bring back a sense of community for all who have once served or still serve our battalion through a shared interest of fishing

Shirts will be $60 each

Please leave your full name in the description of the transaction so that we can verify that you have paid
Cut off for the shirts will be Friday 09 DEC 22 at 1200K, it is our aim to have the order submitted no later than half an hour post that time

The shirts will be bulk ordered to Townsville in order to lower costs
We will be in touch with those residing in Townsville for pick up when they arrive
For anyone outside of the Townsville region, as per last time we will send your shirts to your nominated postal address and may also require you to chip in for a small postage fee

When messaging the page to order a shirt/s, please let us know sizes and quantities per size, as well as if you live in Townsville or not
