Welcome Sappers! Last week 3 CER had 13 new march-ins straight from SME, and just in time for Ex IRON RUN.

Let's hear it for 18 SQN!! Now known at 18 Armoured Engineer Sqn (18 AES) they have been putting the AEVs through their paces ahead of Ex IRON RUN.

Thank you to everyone who came to the 3 CER Dawn service this morning. It was an excellent service made all the more meaningful by the families, ex-sappers and supporters that came to be there. Lest we forget.

16 SQN on the tools!
The teams in 16 SQN threw everything they had at Ex DF26: IMTs, LUEB, Dems ranges and a whole lot of digging! The SQN was augmented with the sappers from the PNGDF and the Assault Pioneer PL from 1 RAR.

Thanks Madre!
During the first two weeks of Ex DF 26 the Madre, CHAP Maltby, did the rounds of the training area to run a Sunday service for each of the SQNs. It was an excellent opportunity to stop, have a chat with the Sally Man and reflect on how thankful we were for the distinct lack of rain compared to Ex DF25!

COMBAT RESCUE!
During Ex DF26 Combat Rescue TP from 25 SPT SQN put together training serials to test out and practice the teams in their specialised roles.

LTCOL Ryan Mitchell and WO1 Thomas Jesser request the company of former members of the Regiment and their families to attend the 2026 ANZAC Day Dawn Service at 3 CER.

Gunfire Breakfast at Barry’s Place – 0450 – 0515

Dawn Service on 3 CER Parade Ground – 0530 – 0600

Breakfast at the Dingo Inn – 0630

Dress: Guests and Serving members not fulfilling an official function are requested to wear coat and tie (or female equivalent)

The Dingo Inn will be open from 0645 – 1100

Access to Lavarack Barracks for members attending the 3 CER Dawn Service is via the Mark Reid Drive between 0430 – 0830. Visitors will need to have a suitable form of photo ID and entry is only for those who have provided their details.
