🏝️ Year 5/6 Magnetic Island Camp – Day 2! 💙

What an incredible day of adventure, teamwork and fun our Year 5/6 students have had on Magnetic Island! 🌴☀️

Last night, students enjoyed games night with a lively game of Minute to Win It, filled with laughter, friendly competition and plenty of fun! 🎉

This morning, the adventures continued with fishing 🎣 and kite making 🪁, before an action-packed afternoon of archery 🏹 and radio rogaine! 📻

Radio rogaine challenged students to work together to navigate, follow clues and complete challenges. Along the way, students practised their communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills, while encouraging each other and celebrating their successes.

From trying something new to supporting their teammates, our students have continued to show resilience, cooperation and a willingness to give everything a go. We are so proud of the way they are embracing every opportunity, building friendships and creating memories that will last a lifetime! 💙

What a fantastic Day 2! We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings! 🌊🏝️

🌴🌊 Year 5/6 Magnetic Island Camp – Day 1! 🌊🌴

What an action-packed first day for our Year 5/6 students on Magnetic Island! 🏝️☀️

Our students jumped straight into the fun with raft building and beach games, taking on challenges, working together and making the most of every opportunity.

🤝 Teamwork was at the heart of the day, with students communicating, problem-solving, encouraging one another and showing great determination. It has been wonderful to see them stepping outside their comfort zones, supporting their peers and embracing new experiences.

We are SO proud of the way our students have represented Kelso State School today! 💙💛 They have demonstrated our Kelso values and shown what can be achieved when we work together.

What a fantastic start to camp! We can’t wait to see what Day 2 brings!

Kelso proud! 💙💛

✏️📚 Prep A – Becoming Story Writers! 🌟

Prep A have been building on their strong knowledge of retelling stories from our English unit this term! This week, students are taking the next exciting step in their learning — moving from retelling familiar stories to creating their own.

After practising how to create a story together as a class, our budding authors are now preparing to write their very own sentences and stories. Today, students completed a narrative plan to organise their ideas and make sure they have all the important characters, events and details ready to bring their stories to life! 📝✨

We can’t wait to see the wonderful stories our young authors create! 💙💛
