Girl Guides are found in 5 districts in Townsville, Mount Isa and Charters Towers. What is Guides, what do we do? Where and when do we meet?
That is hard to summarize in a few words – for different ages it is different things. For the younger girls (5-10 years old) we camp, do some craft, cook, fun outdoors activities etc. This is a time for girls to start becoming independent – they have to take responsibility for themselves. Wednesday night the Aitkenvale Girl Guides & Rangers challenged themselves by hiking down the Cutheringa Track from the top of Castle Hill to our meeting point in Gregory Street, North Ward. Before descending Aquila & Kalira renewed their Girl Guide promise as Leaders with the bright lights of Townsville as a back drop.

Happy Thinking Day
Flinders Region Girl Guides celebrated 100 years of Thinking Day at our Bluewater Campsite, with 60 girls and their Leaders coming together for a fantastic day of friendship and fun 💙
The girls enjoyed a range of activities based on this year’s theme, Our Friendship, and it sounds like the highlight of the day was definitely the cake! 🎂
We were also lucky to have beautiful weather, making it a truly special celebration for everyone involved.
