Historical research skills workshop
Need help starting your family or local history project? As part of our current exhibition Rediscovering Buk Ti, the Society is offering a workshop on historical research skills. Led by our fabulous duo of Dr Jan Wegner and Dr Sandi Robb, the workshop will help you understand primary sources, where to find them and how to evaluate them and will also introduce you to key online databases and how to use them.
Finding ‘hidden histories’ of marginalised or excluded communities will also be a theme. A tour of the CHS archive is included.
We have a limited number of computers available, so some places will be reserved for people who can bring their own wifi enabled laptop.
When: Sat 30 April
Time: 10am – 3pm (includes a 1 hr, self-catered lunch)
Cost: $20 Members/$30 non-Members
