Gippsland Water We provide water and sewerage services to around 168,000 people in Gippsland. Our page is moderated between 9am and 5pm.

Our service area stretches from Drouin in the west to Loch Sport in the east, and from Mirboo North in the south to Rawson and Briagolong in the north. We provide water & sewerage services to more than 70,000 customers in Gippsland, from Drouin to Stratford. We’ve just planted 150 swamp everlastings at Dutson Downs to help secure the future of this critically endangered native plant.

Although not previously found at Dutson Downs, the wetland habitats were identified as an ideal place for it to thrive.

With numbers in decline, this planting will help establish a new population and support healthy Country in Gippsland.

With the Fire Danger Period in effect for some parts of our service area, it’s time to check your alternate water supply.

Our reticulated water systems aren't designed for firefighting purposes. During a bushfire, your water supply, pressure and quality can be affected when firefighting demand is high, or infrastructure is damaged.

That’s why it’s important to include an alternate water source in your bushfire plan.

If you've been enjoying the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail near Glengarry, you may have spotted work underway on our Traralgon Tyers Interconnect project.

The 4.5km pipeline will connect Glengarry, Toongabbie, Cowwarr and Rosedale to the Traralgon water supply network, creating more reliability and efficiency for our customers.

The project will strengthen our water supply system for the future, improve resilience to extreme weather events and support growth across the region.

Member for Eastern Victoria, Harriet Shing visited the site on Monday to see the initial progress.
