BIRTHDAY MENTIONS IN THE BIBLE
1. Genesis Chapter 40- Pharoahs' Birthday
2. Mark 6:14- 29, Matthew 14:3-11 - Herods' Birthday
๐นIn Genesis chapter 40, the whole chapter is about the Chief Baker and Chief Butler, who both offended the Pharoah. So on the 3rd day of Josephs' prophecy of the outcome, it was Pharoahs' birthday.
(Verses 19-23)
Who was hung? The Chief Baker. Not a good outcome for him. ๐
Who was pardoned and forgiven? The Chief Butler. A great outcome for him. ๐
So you could look at this event as showing undeserved kindness and put a positive spin on the birthday.
๐นAt Herods birthday, it was his daughter, (who was acting for Herods sister in law, and was practicing adultery) who requested John the Baptists head. It ๐ฌ๐๐จ๐ฃ'๐ฉ ๐๐๐ง ๐๐๐ง๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ฎ ๐๐ฉ ๐๐ก๐ก. Herod never demanded John's death. Nobody mentions this and seemingly, arbitrary murder can go unpunished.

1st Event: There was a good outcome for the Chief Butler, as well as a bad outcome for the Chief Baker. (Why focus only on the bad outcome?).
2nd Event: it was Herods birthday, not his sister in law, (who wanted John the Baptist dead). The birthday isn't the focus of the tale at all.
Note another possible birthday reference -
๐นJob's 1st family were destroyed during a family celebration too. Job 1:11, 13, 18,19 God let Satan destroy them. But they were righteous Jews. And as it was such a large family, it was highly likely to be a birthday. See Job 1:4,5 feasting, everyone their day, possibly their birthday.
The point is, the celebration is not the focus of the narrative .
