🚒 Ulladulla 477 x Kings Point Community Fire Unit

This morning, Ulladulla 477 joined the Kings Point Community Fire Unit volunteers for a morning of training, covering a range of practical skills, including shifting standpipes, bowling and rolling hoses, and setting up the portable pump.

It was great to get involved in the local community, meet some of the newer volunteers, and work together to build skills, confidence and teamwork. 👨‍🚒🔥

Want to get involved? The Kings Point Community Fire Unit is looking for volunteers in the Kings Point area! If you’re interested in giving back to your community and learning valuable skills, please reach out to find out more.

This morning we were grateful to be invited to the Ngulla NAIDOC Festival at Ulladulla Civic Centre.

It was wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate culture, share stories, and strengthen connections.

Events like these highlight the importance of coming together, celebrating the richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and building stronger, more connected communities.

We would like to thank Milton RFS for packing up our stall while we were at a call out 🙏

Thank you to Ulladulla Lands council for inviting us along 💛🖤❤️

At 10am this morning, Fire+Rescue Ulladulla got called to a smouldering electric blanket.

The owner of the house was about to leave the home when he smelt a strong smell of smoke from his bedroom, which then filled the whole house.

Fortunately, we got there before the fire could spread.

Have you pulled the electric blanket out of the cupboard for the first cold night? Check it before you switch it on.

Look for frays, scorch marks, exposed wires or damage to the controller.

If anything looks off, bin it.

Never fold one while it's on. Never sleep on it switched on.

Be fire safe this winter. 🔥

Today our Recruitment Officers Nathan & Hannah visited Ulladulla High School for their annual careers day!

Along with many other businesses and services, they got to chat to keen Year 8-12 students and explain their role as a firefighters and what they do around the community.

We hope students got something out of today and enjoyed viewing many different types of opportunities out there.

Thank you Ulladulla High for having us! 🔥🚒
