On Wednesday 8th May we had a visit from a group from South West Home and Community Care. After they had their morning tea on the portico they visited the display. On Sunday 11th May I received an email from one of those visitors, Leslie Stevens from Eaton, and he sent me a poem and photo. He wrote that he often writes poems about places he visits with the group. We are very impressed with the poem and have put it on the site for others to enjoy. Larry & Peta Morgan.

Todays, Police Remembrance Day 2024, we had a visit from 56 members of the Nannup Car Club in 23 cars to Policemans Way, my collection of police memorabilia consisting of uniforms, hats, badges and patches, figurines, model cars any many other items relating to police. My neighbour Andrew brought his 1906 Cadillac in and parked it in the carport for the visitors to walk past and admire this special car.

Today I received a very generous gift for addition to Policemans Way from Chris Dawson APM the retiring Commissioner of Police for Western Australia. He arranged to send me his shirt with gorgets, epaulets, name badge and ribbon bar, together with a copy of his biography. I will frame the biography and put it on display alongside the shirt in Policemans Way.

Had the Donnybrook Classic Car Club visit Policemans Way this morning. 22 cars in the group but only 12 parked in the paddock while another 10 parked out on the road verge. A great group of people who seemed to enjoy their day out.

Following a phone call I attended in Gelorup and picked up a load of items both for Policemans Way and the West Australian Police Historical Society. The items I have retained are the uniform and officers' mess dress from the late Chief Superintendent Keith Weaver 2101 who served in the WA Police Force from 1946 to his retirement in 1985. I also got his cap but need to get a badge to finish it. Further, I got the two framed photographs of the then Constable Keith Weaver on horseback patrol with aboriginal trackers out of Fitzroy Crossing . Items I will pass on to the WA Police Historical Society are documents and photographs relating to his career.

With renovations and improvements to the custody area of the Donnybrook Police Station the old barred cell doors have been removed to be replaced by clear windowed doors. I have been fortunate enough to received two of the doors for Policemans Way. I have set one up outside the display and the other inside.

Copies of photographs and documentation relating to the 1911 Model T Ford West Australian Police car were received from Alan Long of the Model T Ford car club today. Includes the details of most of the occupants on the vehicle in the photograph. Much of the information came via the WA Police Historical Society. I have now placed all of the items in a folder on display in Policemans Way.
