Ironic that you’re looking at this on a screen right now? Yes.

Still a simple yet valid message? Also, yes.

Mobile usage has been linked with increases in stress, anxiety and loss in focus. Nature? The opposite. Instead of checking your screen time, maybe spend a few days somewhere that makes you forget to check your phone at all.

We try our best to be present.

We download apps that remind us to breathe. Wear rings that score our sleep. Watches that monitor our stress. Mattresses that analyse our recovery. Then compulsively check whether we’re feeling good yet on the same little rectangle that’s been demanding our attention all day...maybe the answer is a little less complicated.

Put down the phone. Stop checking the score. Walk outside.

Time in nature’s been shown to reduce stress, restore attention, and make us feel closer to ourselves or those around us.

The wind in the trees. A fire crackling at night. Laughing together not in front of a screen. Standing around doing absolutely nothing.

Being here helps us stop trying to be present, by putting us in the present.

The easiest way to understand what Unyoked can do for your mental wellbeing is to try imagining reading a book for a few hours without being distracted by your phone - which has no reception.

If this seems unlikely to you, it is likely you need to get out to nature immediately.

We like 3.

Why? Is it because it’s a prime number? No. A triangular number? No. A Fibonacci number? Not quite.

It’s because being out in nature for 3-days has been scientifically proven to boost creativity, connection, and feelings of wellbeing. Did Fibonacci know this? We can’t be sure. But we know we feel it when we’re out there, and we know you will too.

Feel like you’re doing equations in your head when you look at your calendar at the moment? Cancel some things and come out to nature instead, you might feel better for it.

Starting to get a weird night time tan from the continuous blue light of your phone? Cybele’s here to help.

Tucked into the Queensland bush, just a few hrs from Brisbane she offers a different kind of glow. The kind that comes from a fire, a sky full of actual stars, and a screen that stays in your bag.

Your circadian rhythm will send a thank you note.

You know that thing where you spend the whole week feeling like a phone stuck on 4% battery, and you can’t work out why? You slept (sort of). You ate vegetables (one). You even did the breathing exercise the app keeps nagging you about.

Thing is, you’re not broken. You’re just running ancient hardware in an environment it was never designed for.

Your brain and body were built over hundreds of thousands of years of forests, rivers and open sky, and they still respond to those things like it’s a firmware update.

And we don’t mean “responds” in a vague, scented-candle kind of way. We mean measurable shifts in your mind and body’s chemistry. The kind researchers put in journals with very boring titles.

We’ve pulled together seven of the ones with the biggest impact. Swipe through, then maybe go find some trees. Your operating system will thank you.

Harvard has been running the longest study on human happiness in history since 1938. After nearly 90 years of data, the finding is almost embarrassingly simple: the strongest predictor of a happy life is the quality of your close relationships.

The trouble is, modern life isn’t built for them. Most weeks dissolve into work, errands, and shared screen time that technically counts as “together” but isn’t really. The Gottman Institute, the School of Life, every long-term relationship researcher worth reading, all say the same thing. You have to make space for it. It doesn’t happen on its own.
It’s also why “quality time with my partner” was the second most common reason 800 of our guests gave for booking. Right behind “I just needed a break.”

With unique secluded nature within 1-2hrs from your door... could it be yours too?
