πŸ”₯ CALL OUT – BUSH FIRE πŸ”₯

Multiple crews have attended the location several times following reports of fire activity.

The location was previously subject to a hazard reduction burn undertaken by NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and NSW Rural Fire Service crews on 4 September.

As the area dries out, residual fuels within the burn area can continue to smoulder and occasionally flare up. The fire activity remains within the established burn area.

NPWS crews are back in the area today continuing works and monitoring.

πŸ”₯ CALL OUT – SMOKE IN VICINITY πŸ”₯

This afternoon at approximately 1:30 pm, Sherwood Creek 9 was paged to reports of smoke in the vicinity of Solitary Islands Way.

Crews patrolled around the recent National Parks hazard reduction burn, finding the fire still burning internally. National Parks crews were already on scene monitoring the area.

After liaising with National Parks, the decision was made to burn out the remaining unburnt pockets close to the containment lines.

The fire remains burning internally, with smoke visible from the area. National Parks will continue to patrol and monitor the area over the coming days.

πŸ”₯ CALL OUT – GRASS FIRE πŸ”₯

Today at approximately 12:40 pm, Sherwood Creek 1 was called to assist with a grass fire on Lemon Tree Road, Halfway Creek.

Crews arrived quickly and worked to contain the grass fire. Unfortunately, the fire had already spread to nearby structures.

Crews from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW), wearing breathing apparatus, worked inside the affected structure to extinguish remaining hotspots and ensure the fire was fully extinguished.

A great effort from all crews involved in containing the fire and preventing further spread.
