Thanks to everyone who joined Urunga SES and Bellingen SES at Mylestom. Paddy reminded us that preparing your home is easy:

🔧 Inspect your roof for damage
🧹 Clean gutters, downpipes and drains
🌳 Remove overhanging branches and garden debris
🔒 Secure outdoor furniture and play equipment
⚡ Learn how to switch off your water, power and gas
🚪 Make sure doors and windows properly seal

GET READY FOR SUMMER is on TOMORROW!!

🟩 Mylestom Hall
NOW is the time to get prepared! Urunga and Bellingen SES are teaming up with Repton RFS and Bellingen Valley North Beach SLSC to share practical steps to protect your home and family from storms, floods seasonal fire risks and dangerous surf conditions.
We will have our SES vessels on display, loads of handy resources and great 'gifts'.
Plus: there will be a sausage sizzle, tea and coffee, and kids’ activities throughout the morning.
Come along and get ready for summer — we’d love to see you there!

Urunga members helped rescue a steer caught in a bridge earlier this week. At first, he was more interested in head-butting the team, but our members soon had him released and happily on his way!

GET READY FOR SUMMER event:

🟦 Saturday 19 September
🟧 10am – 1pm
🟩 Mylestom Hall

With the summer season approaching, it’s a great chance to learn practical steps to protect your home and family from storms and floods, as well as seasonal fire risks. SES members, together with Repton RFS and Landcare, will be available to answer questions and share simple, practical actions you can take now to get ready.

A highlight of the day is the SIM Table, demonstrating how and where a fire may spread in our local area.
There’ll also be a sausage sizzle, tea and coffee, and activities for the kids. Hope to see you there!
