Riverina Eastern Regional Organisation of Councils (REROC) is a voluntary association of 7 General Purpose Councils and 1 Water County Council working collaboratively across the Eastern Riverina in NSW. Located in the eastern Riverina region of NSW, REROC's member Councils are Bland, Coolamon, Cootamundra-Gundagai, Greater Hume, Junee, Lockhart, Temora and Goldenfields Water.

Reflecting on an Incredible
What an outstanding two days at the 2026 Innovation in Energy, Waste & Circular Economy Conference (IEWCE2026).

With more than 120 delegates from across NSW, Victoria, Queensland and the ACT, this year's conference brought together local government leaders, industry experts, government agencies, utilities and innovators to explore the future of energy, waste, resource recovery and the circular economy.

From thought-provoking presentations and panel discussions to practical case studies and valuable networking opportunities, the conference highlighted the importance of knowledge sharing and regional collaboration in shaping sustainable communities.

A huge thank you to our presenters, sponsors, exhibitors and delegates whose passion, expertise and engagement made the event such a success.

How can councils use Return and Earn to boost recycling and community participation?

We’re excited to welcome Shirani Glover, Executive Director (Communications, Marketing & Engagement) at Exchange for Change, to the IEWCE 2026 speaker lineup!

In her session, Shirani will showcase the positive outcomes from the first round of the Return and Earn bin basket and cradle program, where 31 councils secured free equipment for their communities.

- Real-world results: See how councils are using Return and Earn bin baskets to encourage recycling and community participation.
- Local case study: Hear practical insights into implementation and the outcomes being achieved in local communities.

NSW’s Container Deposit Scheme, Return and Earn, has seen more than 16 billion bottles, cans and cartons returned for recycling through more than 660 return points since 2017.
