Join us for Mingara's Relay For Life on 17–18 October at the Mingara Regional Athletics Track as our community comes together to celebrate cancer survivors, support those currently facing cancer, remember loved ones, and raise vital funds for Cancer Council.

From 10am Saturday through to 10am Sunday, teams will take turns walking around the track in a powerful reminder that cancer never rests. Across the 24 hours, participants and supporters can enjoy live entertainment, family-friendly activities, fundraising stalls, special ceremonies, and a wonderful sense of community spirit.

Every dollar raised helps fund life-saving cancer research, support services, prevention programs, and advocacy initiatives that make a real difference for Australians impacted by cancer.

Today marks the official start of the bush fire season, with the Bush Fire Danger Period beginning in most NSW Local Government Areas.

If you’re planning on conducting a burn, you’ll require a fire permit from your local Fire Control Centre or brigade. Fire permits help ensure fire is used safely and reduces the danger to you, your property and the community.

Residents and land holders must know the rules when it comes to the use of fire. Along with having the required fire permits, you need to notify your local fire authority and neighbours of your intent to burn at least 24 hours in advance.

This evening, Wamberal Brigade were out in the local area completing training exercises working through both a bush fire and structure fire scenario at two separate locations.

Whilst at our structure-fire scenario, our brigade was paged to an incident call up at Magenta. This is a good reminder that incidents can happen at anytime of the day or night.

Now is a great time to start thinking about your property and ensuring it is safe moving into fire season!

Today Wamberal Brigade have spent the day down at Central Coast Grammar School at their Spring Fair! It’s been a wonderful day chatting with the local community and spreading awareness about the upcoming fire season. 🔥

It was a busy weekend for Wamberal Brigade with some of our crew responding down to the Calga fire on Saturday afternoon and into the evening.

Our crew alongside several other Central Coast Brigades promptly responded and helped contain the area.

Thank you to our members who showed courage and spent their Saturday helping out and showing up for our Central Coast community! 🔥🚒🙌🏼
