๐ฅBUSH FIRE DANGER PERIOD โ FIRE SAFETY PERMITS ๐ฅ
As we're now in the Bush Fire Danger Period, we remind everyone that fire safety permits are required for certain types of burning.
๐ Permits are completed by our RFS volunteers, who need to assess each application and ensure the proposed burn can be carried out safely and in accordance with the applicable requirements. To apply, Visit the NSW Rural Fire Service website and look for the apply notify inquire section to access the Guardian portal. You can apply as a guest or create an account for faster future applications. Complete the form with your property details and select your burn purpose (such as a vegetation pile burn).
โฐ Please plan ahead!
Permits will generally be issued for up to 21 days, however we ask that you provide at least one weekโs notice before your planned burn date. This allows our volunteers enough time to process the application and inspect the site and discuss appropriate safety measures.
๐ฅ Before lighting any fire, make sure you have the appropriate permit and approvals and understand the conditions attached to it.
๐จโ๐ Our volunteers are here to help keep our community safe, but they need sufficient time to process applicationsโparticularly during busy periods.
Please donโt leave your permit application until the last minute. Plan ahead, apply early and burn safely.
โข Notice: You must notify your neighbors and the RFS at least 24 hours before lighting a fire. You can submit your burn notification online at NSW RFS Notify.
โข Restrictions: Permits are automatically suspended during Total Fire Bans or when the fire danger rating is high or above.
For further information, contact your local NSW RFS brigade or visit the NSW Rural Fire Service website.
