TRASH TALK: NAPPIES ๐Ÿ‘ถ

We found a few unexpected passengers in our first kerbside recycling collection: nappies.

This one's an easy sort:
Yellow-lid bin? NAH.
General waste? YEAH.

Clean and used nappies donโ€™t belong in your yellow-lid bin.
Dispose of them in your general waste bin.

One quick Check Before You Chuck helps keep the right things in the right bin.

TRASH TALK: GREEN WASTE ๐ŸŒฟ

It might be green, but it's not a Good Sort for your yellow-lid bin.

We spotted some green waste in our first collection, so here's an easy one to remember: grass clippings, leaves, weeds and garden waste stay out of the yellow-lid recycling bin. Try composting them instead.

Save your yellow-lid bin for Good Sorts like paper and cardboard, glass bottles and jars, cans and plastic bottles and containers.

Not sure where something goes? Check Before You Chuck.

TRASH TALK: PLASTIC BAGS ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

Our first collection is sorted and thereโ€™s one thing weโ€™d love everyone to check before the next one.

Plastic bags donโ€™t belong in your yellow-lid recycling bin โ€” even when they're holding otherwise perfectly good recycling.

Tip it out. Keep it loose.

Your bottles, cans, containers, paper and cardboard should go straight into the yellow lid empty, clean and loose. Never bagged.

Before Collection #2, give your yellow-lid bin a quick check and make sure a plastic bag hasn't snuck in.

Still unsure? Check Before You Chuck:
