CAR DONATIONS NEEDED

We are calling on the community for help. We are on the lookout for old, unwanted, written off or even new cars to use in our road crash rescue training exercises. These vehicles are essential for keeping us skilled and ready to respond to real emergencies on our roads.

If you or someone you know has a vehicle you no longer need whether it runs or not and you'd like to see it put to good use please send us a message. We are able to arrange collection.

Assist Ambulance

At 2:43 pm our unit was activated to assist Ambulance with a difficult to access patient on a 4WD track in Nullawarre. Our members arrived on scene along with Police and Ambulance and deployed our UTV to transport in a specialist MICA paramedic along with equipment needed to treat the patient.

A decision was made to transport the patient via Air Ambulance and our members assisted loading them into the helicopter, then had to quickly transport the MICA back to the staging area to attend to another serious incident elsewhere.

Well done to all those that attended.

Last night, instead of our usual training, Warrnambool SES was joined by members from SES Port Fairy Unit and Warrnambool CFA for a fantastic Christmas in July Trivia Night.

It was a great opportunity to put the training aside for one evening, catch up with fellow volunteers, enjoy some friendly competition, and strengthen the relationships that are so important when we work together at emergencies.

A big thank you to Todd from Times Up Trivia for hosting a fun and entertaining trivia night that kept everyone laughing.

We'd also like to sincerely thank the following local businesses for their incredible generosity in donating prizes for the evening:

🎁Totally Workwear Warrnambool
🎁 George Taylor's Stores
🎁 Supercheap Auto Warrnambool
🎁Collins Booksellers Warrnambool
🎁 Norfolk Butchers
🎁 Bunnings Warehouse Australia
🎁Wyton Events & Catering

Your support of our local emergency service volunteers is greatly appreciated and helped make the night such a success.

Finally, thank you to everyone who attended. Nights like these are a great reminder that while volunteering is about serving our community, it's also about the friendships and camaraderie we build along the way. We look forward to doing it again!

At 9:56 am this morning our members were called to a large branch that had fallen onto a parked car on Fairy St damaging it and leaving the branch in a precarious position.

With Council also being notified they quickly organsied a tree crew working nearby to come and assist, we worked to support them in removing the branch and managing the traffic so they could work safely.

We would like to thank Deep Creek Tree Care for providing their expertise and equipment and to Council for organising them.

Well done to all that attended.
