It’s almost time for our final Warrnambool Women’s Mentor March of 2026!

We’re getting up early for a morning session on Wednesday 4 November.

Together with Women's Health and Wellbeing Barwon South West, we’re excited to invite you to join at 7am at the Beach Kiosk on Pertobe Rd in Warrnambool.

This is a space to meet other local professionals and share ideas about how we can strengthen connection, inclusivity and equality in our workplaces.

It’s free to join but please register here: https://events.humanitix.com/copy-of-warrnambool-women-s-mentor-march

We’ve called this a women’s walk — but all are welcome. Creating equitable workplaces is something we all have a role in.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

A big thanks to the team at are-able Warrnambool who are helping us re-label some of our merchandise bottles.

After a printing error meant the bottles couldn’t be used as they were, we got new stickers to give them a second life, saving them from landfill.

We couldn’t have done it without the are-able team. A win-win collaboration!

Meet Jackson, Sophia and Tom! They’re our current business trainees working in Assets, Corporate Services and Risk and Resilience!

Jackson has enjoyed exploring various treatment and pump stations across the region. This hands-on experience has deepened his understanding of how everything operates.

He’s gained valuable skills in Excel, GIS, and other systems, boosting his confidence and time-management abilities.

Jackson encourages anyone thinking about applying next year to ask questions—there's so much to learn along the way!

Sophia has enjoyed connecting with new people and learning about different roles within our organisation. She’s gained insights into professionalism, which she applies to her emails and meeting skills.

If you’re considering taking a gap year for a traineeship, Sophia says to go for it!

Tom has also picked up a lot of new skills, including computer and communication abilities. He created a digital OHS noticeboard and has loved being part of a team. His advice for future trainees? Be open, have fun, and don’t hesitate to chat with people from all over the organisation.

Learn more about their experiences so far here: https://www.wannonwater.com.au/community-and-environment/news-and-events/news/insights-from-our-2026-trainees/

Meet Mikayla!

After completing her Diploma of Leadership & Management earlier this year through an Autorola-supported scholarship, she's putting her new skills into action as our Facilities and Property Officer.

Mikayla helps coordinate facility and property services across our many sites, from maintenance and safety compliance to property administration and workplace improvement projects.

She's played a key role in developing our Workplace Strategy, helping create places where employees feel safe, supported and empowered to do their best work.

By ensuring our workplaces run smoothly, Mikayla helps our teams stay focused on delivering essential water and sewerage services to more than 46,000 customers across our region.

"I love the diversity of the role and that no two days are the same. Because we cover such a large region, there's always a new challenge to tackle and an opportunity to make a difference for our people."

Congratulations on completing your studies, Mikayla! 🎓👏
