Wyndham City Youth Services is proud to announce Busolami Bello as the One Wyndham recipient for May. Busolami uses her voice and experiences to represent and uplift diverse communities. She leads the feminist club at her high school as she wanted to create a safe space where students could engage in discussions around gender inequality, youth empowerment and social justice. Join us as we acknowledge International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination on 14 May, with a flag raising event at Wyndham City’s Civic Centre, and hear from award-winning writer, historian and podcaster Dr Yves Rees, who’ll speak on transgender history and politics.
Dr Rees is a frequent contributor to ABC radio, and has appeared on ABC TV’s The Drum and Queerstralia, as well as Channel 10’s The Project.
This year’s theme for IDAHOBIT is: “At the heart of democracy”. It is a reminder that “the soil of truly democratic societies must be rich in meaningful equity and justice for all, fostering the flourishing of the entire community”.

Wyndham City Youth Services is proud to announce Madison Winfield the One Wyndham recipient for April. Madison is a compassionate and creative young leader who encourages inclusivity within the Wyndham community. Madison is currently studying Year 12 and leads arts initiatives and events as the schools’ Arts Captain and is a committed member of Rotary’s Interact Club, Madison organises and assists with projects that support those in need across the community. Wyndham City Youth Services is proud to announce Takee Alif as the One Wyndham recipient for March. Takee is self-motivated and has created and hosted numerous radio shows and podcasts on SYN 90.7FM. Also participating in the ‘Stories Behind the Sound’, for the 2025 twenty-four-hour Radiothon broadcast. Takee has completed a Diploma of Music and is currently studying a Bachelor of Music and mentors new students.
