Wyndham City Council extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends and community of Tommy Day III, aka Jirri Jirri.
As a proud Kerrupmara, Gunditjmara, Yorta Yorta and Wemba Wemba artist, Tommy became widely recognised in recent years, making a huge impact on the public art world in just a short time.
Tommy’s creative contribution and presence left a lasting impact on those who had the opportunity to work alongside him and experience his artistic process. Through his work, he brought energy, character and connection to public spaces, helping shape the cultural fabric of communities in Wyndham beyond.
His award-winning work with Wyndham on Australia’s largest First Nations mural, ‘Mooroop Yarkeen’ (Spirit Dreaming), is a testament to his immense capacity for consultation and deep understanding of community, as well as his ability to voice and represent culture in a way that brought life and hope to Australia’s future of Reconciliation.
We acknowledge the influence Tommy had within the street art and creative community, the respect he earned through his dedication to his craft, and the legacy he leaves behind.
Our thoughts are with all who knew and loved him during this difficult time.
Fly high Tommy Day III.

Titled Retro Future Feline led by artist Mike Maka and painted alongside Tayla Broekman and Justin Enrico Legaspi, the artwork brings together imaginative visions of the future inspired by local young people from the Paradox Amplify Crew.
