Hey Neighbours!

Our Cuppa For Dementia fundraiser is now done and dusted

We had a gret morning with beautiful weather, lots of delicious snacks and some greats chats with folks from our community 💜

Thank you to everyone that stopped by and donated

Big thank you to our volunteers who baked or helped today

So far our total raised is at $436.65 which is incredible

☕💜 CUPPA FOR DEMENTIA – COME JOIN US!💜☕

The volunteers at Upper Yarra SES are proud to be hosting a “Cuppa for Dementia” on Sunday 18 October from 10am, and we’d love for our community to come along!

Dementia touches far more lives than many of us realise.

In 2026 an estimated 446,500 Australians are living with dementia, and around 1.7 million Australians are involved in caring for someone living with dementia.

Dementia has an impact not just on those diagnosed, but on families, friends, carers and communities right across Australia.
So, come along, grab a cuppa, enjoy some snacks and have a yarn with us! ☕🍰

📍 Upper Yarra SES - 2804 Warburton Highway, Wesburn

We’ll supply the drinks and snacks - all you need to do is bring yourself, bring a friend and make a donation at the door. 💜

Every donation will help raise much-needed funds towards dementia services, support and research, helping people living with dementia and the families and carers who support them.

Whether you’ve been personally touched by dementia or simply want to support a great cause, come down, have a cuppa and have a chat with our members.

Well neighbours what a colossal weekend for Upper Yarra

On Saturday, five of our members headed across out west to visit Triple Zero Victoria . They met up with our friends from SES Myrtleford Unit and together took a tour around the centre that receives and dispatches our calls for assistance. Very impressive set up!

On Sunday we had the pleasure of undertaking a Road Rescue demonstration at the Millgrove Open Day and Expo. What a cracker of a day!
Excellent turnout
10/10 weather
Great community interactions
Plenty of smiling faces
Delicious snacks

And our new tiny car has a new name!
We are proud to welcome “Upper Yarra Support 0.5” to our fleet!

We ended our weekend by popping out to Three Bridges fire to set up some lighting to support the legends out there getting that fire under control!

Hey Neighbours

Tomorrow at the Millgrove Open Day and Expo, Upper Yarra SES will be the debuting the newest addition to our fleet 🚔

BUT we are having trouble naming it and we need your help!

Most of our fleet have such boring names “Upper Yarra Rescue” , “Upper Yarra Support 1” etc, so unexciting!
This car needs a name that is a bit more fun…

We would love our community to help us name this new vehicle!

For a $5 donation you can submit your name suggestion, after the open day we will then put the suggestions into a spinning wheel app to determine the new callsign for this fancy little beast and will unveil the new name and its name-giver in a special Facebook post! Its name will then be added across the top of the windshield

Come see our team at the Millgrove Open Day tomorrow to register your suggestion ✌🏼

Or for your little people to take our new wheels for a spin 😂🤭

Upper Yarra SES are very excited to be attending the Millgrove open day this Sunday 🎉 🎈

We are very lucky to have a large space so we are able to undertake a live demonstration at 11am to show you all how we use our Rescue tools 🧰⚒️

We will also have a huge variety of kids activities and plenty of our volunteers will be there so come along, let the kids have a play while you have a chat ☕️💬
