On Tuesday evening Middleton RFB was honoured to host the Thai Consulate, the Thai restaurant assoc and the owners of Do Dee Paidang Restaurant.
Middleton members demonstrated a simulated car fire and conducted a live fire exercise showcasing fire suppression techniques and extinguishment of the fire.
A special thank you to the owners of Do Dee Paidang for providing the amazing food for the evening.

🚨LATE NIGHT CALL OUT 🚨
Last night, crews from Middleton, Casula, and Horsley Park responded to a machinery fire in Austral.
Quick work by all involved saw the fire extinguished and the scene made safe before further damage could occur. Excellent teamwork across all three brigades!
Great job by everyone who turned out.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

🟠EXTREME FIRE DANGER RISK🟠
‼️TOTAL FIRE BAN‼️
Saturday, 10th January 2026

The fire danger risk in Greater Sydney Region today is EXTREME and a Total Fire Ban is once again in force as temperatures reach the 40’s.

Hot, dry and windy conditions are forecast across most of the state, increasing the fire danger. Know your fire risk and what you will do if fire threatens. Report all unattended fires to Triple Zero (000).

During a Total Fire Ban you cannot light, maintain or use a fire in the open, or to carry out any activity in the open that causes, or is likely to cause, a fire.

For more information on Total Fire Ban rules, visit the website: www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fdr

Over the coming days an extreme heatwave could see the potential for increased fire activity in parts of NSW.

The Hazards Near Me app lets you set up watch zones for areas you live in or travel to. Tap on the watch zone icon and then on the +ADD icon. This will allow you to set up watch zones anywhere between a 5-50km radius and receive alerts and warnings for those areas.

Don't forget about the Emergency Plus, BOM weather and Live Traffic apps. These are great for sharing GPS locations, monitoring weather and keeping up with road closures, detours and accidents.
