Any groups or businesses interested in a printer/copier and a heap of ink stuff?

It’s not perfect and will need a service, the pages come out with a bit of a random colour stripe for a few pages then it normally settles, until you use it again.

We ended up with another printer and it doesn’t use the same ink and stuff so all of this lot is up for grabs.

If you are a group or business that could barter your services or would like to make a small donation of some sort, then you can make a new home for this machine.
It’s too good to throw away so would prefer it go to someone that can use it.

Well we recently shared that our trusty old Cruiser had to leave the stables.

We have just today officially been handed the keys to our replacement.

This new purpose built truck is very well setup for Storm Damage and General Rescue. This truck also gives us the ability to get around when conditions are poor and get through deeper water.
As we service the towns of Point Samson, Roebourne and Wickham as well as the surrounding communities and stations we have found in the past that we have been unable to respond until the rains settle and the floodways drop, but with this new truck we are able to get out earlier and safer to assist you when you need us most.

We are always on the lookout for new membership too, so if you’d like to share some of your time and skills with your community or even learn some new skills then come on down and give us a try.
Members 16-18yrs with parent/guardian consent and we can even start cadet membership as young as 14yrs (training and non operational roles only until 16) and it is a great environment to share with the family.

Training nights are Tuesday’s from 7pm, 31 Wickham drive, Wickham. We look forward to seeing you soon 😉.

Well, after 15 years of service, the Cruiser is retiring.
It’s bitter sweet to see the old horse heading to greener pastures, but the new pony is bigger and better and should see many years of faithful service to us and our community.
This is the last time this cruiser will see this building.

Stay tuned for the unveiling over the next week or so.

We’re in training for next cyclone season, we’ve almost got it dialled in so hit us up for all your fallen tree work 😜.

If you think you’ve got what it takes, or would like to learn some new skills, come on down on a Tuesday night and meet the team.

We need YOU to help keep the community sorted for events such as
Storm Damage
Land Search
Emergency Services Support

You can learn and put to use skills such as
Radio Communications
Knot Tying
Chainsaw Operations
General Rescue
Roof Safety (Working at Height) Systems
4WD Techniques and Recovey
Navigation
Operation Center

We look forward to seeing YOU soon.

Last night we were lucky enough to have 5 members recognised for their contributions volunteering within the City of Karratha.

Kym, Janine, Stacey and Mick have all contributed 5years of service.
Clint has contributed 15years.

The event was the City’s way of saying thankyou to the people that volunteer in the emergency services, awards presented for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years last night.

Fantastic effort from all volunteers across all services and thankyou to City of Karratha for the recognition.
It was a great night.

Morning all
As you are probably all aware, the weather has backed off and we are back to a YELLOW Cyclone Advice status.
Please use caution getting around, as you have probably seen there are hazards about that will take some time to clean up.

We are affected by the 4/5G mobile service being down at the moment, however if you need assistance please call 132500 and log the task and we will get there as soon as we can.

We are still ORANGE Watch and Act this morning.
It’s going to be a rough day so please stay up to date with https://www.emergency.wa.gov.au throughout today.
Narelle looks to have turned a little more south and a bit closer to us than anticipated so we will see more weather accordingly.
Stay safe everyone.

We’ve been stepped up to an ORANGE Watch and Act.
Please make sure you are appropriately prepared, yards cleaned up etc.
Hopefully a bit of wind and rain but we all know that Cyclones can do the unexpected so please stay informed and keep an eye on https://www.emergency.wa.gov.au or the app.

Please also note the Total Fire Ban for tomorrow (midnight to midnight)

So for those that aren’t already aware, we have gone to a YELLOW Cyclone Advice yesterday.

Nothing to stress about but please keep an eye on https://www.emergency.wa.gov.au or download the app.

It doesn’t appear that it’ll be knocking on our door but these things have proven themselves to do some strange things over the years so it doesn’t hurt to stay informed and there is still the possibility of the poor weather associated with cyclones being in proximity to us, even without it dropping in to say hi.
