Williamstown Primary School - Victoria. An iconic community school steeped in 150 years of history

Williamstown Primary School is the oldest school in the district with a history stretching back over 140 years. Our Gaga Pit Has Arrived!

We are excited to share that our brand-new Gaga Pit has now been installed and is ready for our W***y Kids to enjoy!

This fantastic addition to our playground and outdoor learning spaces has been made possible thanks to the incredible fundraising efforts of our school community through last year’s Seaside Fair. It is another example of how community support directly enhances the experiences and opportunities available to our students.

The Gaga Pit forms part of our broader grounds improvement project and provides students with another active, inclusive and engaging space to connect, play and have fun during break times.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Seaside Fair and helped make this project a reality. We can’t wait to see our W***y Kids making the most of it!

As our Prep information tours have commenced, one of the questions we are often asked is: What is a W***y Kid?

Embedded within the rich history of Williamstown Primary School is the “W***y Kids are Friendly Kids” Program, championed by former Principal Tilly Barger in the early 1990s.

Being a W***y Kid is more than just attending our school. It reflects who our students are, where they come from and what they aspire to become. The term “W***y Kid” is used as a noun, adjective and even a verb — helping define the identity of our students and their strong connection to both the school and broader Williamstown community.

A W***y Kid demonstrates our core values of respect, responsibility, resilience and learning, while contributing positively to the welcoming and inclusive culture that our school is proud of.

We encourage all prospective W***y Kid families, in or out of zone, to attend one of our school tours and hear directly from our student leaders to gain a deeper understanding of what it truly means to be a W***y Kid.

Tour #3 Thursday 28th May 2:30pm
Tour #4 Tuesday 9th June 2:30pm

Further tours dates to be confirmed

Being welcomed—quite literally—by our W***y Kids’ artwork each morning never gets old.

It’s a daily reminder of the creativity, pride and sense of belonging that sits at the heart of our school.

Thank you to the many families who joined us for our 2027 Prep Information Night and our first school tour this week. It was wonderful to welcome you into our school and share what makes Williamstown Primary such a special place to learn and grow.

A special thank you to our School Captains, who did an outstanding job leading our tours. They represented our school with confidence, pride and warmth—true role models for what it means to be a W***y Kid.

We understand that choosing the right school is an important decision. If you have any enrolment enquiries—whether you are in-zone or considering an out-of-zone application—we warmly encourage you to contact our school office. Our team is always happy to assist and guide you through the process.

While we have three more tours currently scheduled, we are also in the process of confirming additional tour dates to meet demand.

We look forward to continuing to connect with our prospective families and sharing the Williamstown Primary School story.

We are incredibly proud of our student leaders for their outstanding contribution at this morning’s Williamstown Dawn Service.

Not only did they respectfully lay a wreath on behalf of our school community, they also played an important ceremonial role by escorting community organisations as they laid their own wreaths. This included supporting Melissa Horne during the service.

Our students represented Williamstown Primary School with maturity, respect and pride, honouring the spirit of ANZAC Day and our wider community. We thank them for their leadership and service.

A big thank you to Jenny Speakman for the making and donation of the wreath
