📢 Mental Health First Aid Training for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men.
Register now for a FREE mental health first aid training program where participants learn how to recognise, respond to, and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experiencing mental health challenges, crises, or distress.
This course is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men who work in in the Mental Health and Alcohol & Other Drugs workforce and is grounded in cultural understanding, community connection, and practical support strategies that respect Aboriginal ways of healing.

Today, on National Sorry Day and ahead of the beginning of National Reconciliation Week 2026 tomorrow, we welcomed Thomas Mayo to our office to share his reflections on what these dates of significance mean to him, and the role each of us can play in creating meaningful change.
Thomas is a Kaurareg Aboriginal and Kalkalgal, Erubamle Torres Strait Islander man living on Larrakia Country in Darwin. He is an award-winning author, advocate and signatory to the Uluru Statement from the Heart. Through storytelling and conversation, he encouraged us to think about reconciliation as an ongoing commitment built through listening, respect, truth-telling and action.

Last year’s Primary Health Care Service of the Year winner, Ramingining Health Centre, was recognised for its outstanding contribution to community health and wellbeing. Centre Manager Peter Malavisi accepetd the award on behalf of the organisation.
“The recognition was great and made us all feel proud. The local staff were so honoured to have Ramingining recognised for the good work that they do,” Peter said.
“The awards was a great event, but it was even better coming home and telling staff that we had won.”
Peter encouraged others to nominate, saying: “The application process is easy and it is important to recognise those in primary health that are doing well.”
