🌏 On this World Environment Day, a reminder that protecting your sewer pipes also means protecting the environment.
Sewer blockages can lead to overflows that pollute rivers, lakes and local waterways. You can help by flushing only the 3Ps (p*e, poo and paper) and keeping fats, oils and wipes out of drains. Small actions at home play an important role in keeping our waterways clean.

During this National Reconciliation Week 2026, North East Water acknowledges the Registered Aboriginal Parties of Yorta Yorta and Taungurung, as well as the First Nations groups of Duduroa Dhargal, Dhudhuroa Waywurru, Jaitmathang, Jaitmathang TABOO, Bangerang, and Dalka Warra Mittung.
This year's theme — All In — is a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. Since 2018, we’ve been building relationships with First Nations communities, seeking opportunities to learn, grow and partner in meaningful ways.
This week, and every week, we remain committed to listening deeply, acting with respect and working towards a more inclusive future.

Great news for North East Water — we’ve been named a finalist in the Australian Water Association's National Customer Experience Awards.
The nomination recognises our Customer Care Fair Practice Plan, which focuses on strengthening support for customers experiencing vulnerability and making it easier to access the services they need.
A big thank you to our people, customers and partner organisations who helped shape this important work.
Winners will be announced at the Ozwater conference in Brisbane this week — good luck to all finalists!
