Baby it’s cold outside, but there are a few things you need to know about firewood collection.

❌ Collecting wood from council roadsides and reserves is not permitted.
βœ… The nearest designated collection points are located in Indigo Shire.
πŸ”₯ Buying firewood from a certified local retailer is sustainable and preserves animal habitats.

Most firewood is green and needs eight to 12 months to dry before it is suitable for burning. Because supply is limited, priority access may apply for local residents or communities that rely heavily on firewood.

You might notice some activity around the park over the next week as the council works to replace the exercise equipment and barbecue shelter.

Subject to weather conditions, works are expected to be completed by June 30 with the same park you know and love looking a little bit brighter.

Wodonga is lucky to be rich with variety of local birds and animals.

Enjoy their presence but 𝐩π₯𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐑𝐞𝐦. Free-ranging wildlife rarely, if ever, need to be fed by humans.

While it may be seen as a fun activity to feed birds or other wildlife, it can cause them more harm than good. Their own natural diet provides them with what they need and some foods can cause them problems.

For more information on why we shouldn’t feed wildlife, head to the DEECA websiteπŸ‘‰ wod.city/protectingwildlife

RACV's My Country Road survey asks Victorians to identify the roads causing them the biggest concern. Your feedback will help strengthen the case for long-term investment in the roads regional communities rely on every day.
